Ahead at 5

Have you ever taken a picture of something that's on TV? I hadn't until yesterday, but thanks to my trusty TiVo I was able to pause this news ad and snap a shot:

What exactly is Ms. Laura Diaz wearing? Did she just come from the beach and not have enough time to change?

I love Orange County.

A better question: does it come in red? I have a ward social coming up.

She's a newscaster?!?

It's funny you should ask if I've ever taken a picture of the tv. I just uploaded a picture of Typhoid Mary from a PBS doc the other night, and was sitting here trying to come up with a way to incorporate her image into some conversation/blog. Thank you for making this random tv image relevant! You're the best.

I know it's a captured image but from where I'm sitting it doesn't even look like beach wear, more like a towel over a bra. Of course in LA a towel would be acceptable newscaster apparel, it's just usually seen on channel 11 and on Jillian Barberi (sp?). I would also like to know what Ms. Diaz is talking about, because to me, that facial expression says "What you talkin' about Willis?"

I don't know . . . I've always wanted to wear a school bus yellow metallic blanket around my torso . . .

Not only is she a newscaster, she's "one of the leading Hispanic television journalists in the nation." (So says the CBS website.) She is "thrilled to be part of the team that helped transform CBS 2 into the ratings leader in Southern California."

Transforming CBS 2 into the ratings leader - one bra strap at a time.

Dearest Jannah,
Ah yes. Fox 11 news, whose slogan is "Get It On!" So classy.
